lila blue: 6PM - 6.30PM
LILA BLUE is a non-binary and queer folk musician, singer-songwriter, playwright and performer based out of New York. Their projects navigate themes of grief, joy, intergenerational trauma, rage, queerness and collisions with divine and haunted spirits stemming from their own intuitive practices. They have composed music for film and television, most notably for MTV and Lifetime.
They released their fourth LP, Sweet Pea, in late 2023, garnering critical praise, and are currently developing an original musical about the life and work of artist Hilma af Klint and prepping to record a live EP with the Wild Hunt Sessions.
alfonso velez: 6.45PM - 7.15PM
ALFONSO VELEZ developed a New York audience by playing live. For six years prior to the pandemic, his weekly Sunday evening residency in the West Village grew in attendance, and his original songs became staples.
Flanking him on bass, drums, and keys are NYC monsters Jamie Alegre, Chris Parker, and Ben Hoffman, who, together with Velez, create a distinctly New York sound, that nods to early and mid-seventies records by Paul Simon, The Band, and JJ Cale. His music plays for keeps, and he's converted even the most cynical cross-armed New York audiences. Velez will be playing songs from an upcoming full-length album, out this Spring.
Mary-Elaine Jenkins: 7.30PM - 8PM
Mary-Elaine Jenkins is a Brooklyn-based songwriter, singer, and guitarist. A native of the South Carolina Lowcountry, her sound combines manifold influences with a distinctly Southern sensibility. Named one of “5 Up-And-Coming Women Musicians You Should Know About” (Bust Magazine) and described as "standing righteously above other young pretenders" (Glide Magazine), Mary-Elaine is a fixture of the New York music scene, has toured Europe, and has supported artists such as Martha Wainwright and John Craigie. She released ‘Hold Still,’ her full-length debut, in 2018 and is currently working on a new record.
